Raymarine Wind Vane replaced

After the wind vane stopped reading last season, I got a new one and replaced also the base plus cable through the mast. Hopefully this finally lasts!

 

Masthead Light replaced

The masthead light didn’t work any more last season. I got without hassle immediately a replacement from Lopolight on warranty (just had to pay shipping).

 

Battery charger Victron IP22

I removed the old Cristec charger, which didn’t seem to work last season and installed a second Victron charger in parallel tot he one I added in 2019 in Martinique.

Genaker repaired

The tissue in the bottom section of the genaker was getting to weak and had to be replaced. That section is also exposed to the sun when furled. The furling line was also replaced.

Controls Bowthruster replaced

After receiving the information about the parts used in the switchbox oft he bowthruster I could ordert hem individually and replace the old ones, i.e. joystick and illuminated push buttons (standard IDEC controls).

Inverter DC/AC Victron 12/800 installed

I installed an inverter, which would allow to get 240V AC out of the 12V DC batteries. Though it isn’t connected yet.

Power supply of fridge modified

The fridge has a built in guard which switches it off, as soon as voltage is below 11.5V. But on startup voltage drops excessively due to small wire diameter. Hence I connected the fridge engine using 8mm2 wire directly to the batteries (with 10A fuse in between).

Winches (5x) serviced

After quite some time the service on the winches was due. We cleaned and greased them. 5 were done, 2 more tob e done next season.

Nanni Heat Exchanger serviced

After 5 years the heat exchanger was due for cleaning. I replaced the tube stack with a modified version with integrated screw, hence it can’t break and is easier to install. The spare tube stack is sent to Kiesow to perform the same modification.
The alternator was cleaned, the fan belt and the anode replaced. Also the ATF in the gear box was replaced.

Lugger Heat Exchanger serviced

Also on the new generator I considered the heat exchanger was due for inspection. I cleaned the tube stack and the exhaust elbow. A small sea water leak on the exhaust elbow was identified and fixed.

Bimini & Lazybag repaired

The extremely strong gusts of wind caused some damage on the straps holding the bimini, the bimini itself and on the front part oft he lazybag. This was sewn by a very competent upholsterer (Arsenis)

Standard maintenance

Watermaker membranes cleaned and conserved; oil change HP pump; filter replaced.

Sea water circuit rinsed on engine & generator
change of oil & filters & impellers; heat exchanger rinsed and filled with new cooling fluid.
Outboard rinsed, oil change.
Anodes on propeller, rudders, keel and hull replaced
Antifouling SeaJet 034 applied
